This stunning page is a wonderful example of what one see’s when looking through a microscope. It’s almost hard to believe hundreds of these little guys can be in a single drop of water. This print has been restored from the original, we have also enhanced the colours and removed a few scratches.

Description

This is a restored art print from a 1800's German book entitled: Die infusionsthierchen als vollkommene organismen. It was by a German scientists named Christian Gottfried Ehrenberg, for nearly 30 years Ehrenberg examined samples of water, soil, sediment, blowing dust and rock and described thousands of new species, and many fossils, in nearly 400 scientific publications.

But it is the extraordinary details and coloring he add's to his sketches that amaze me, his artist ability was incredible for it's time – he truly captures the essence of these tiny little creature. This stunning page is a wonderful example of what one see’s when looking through a microscope. It’s almost hard to believe hundreds of these little guys can be in a single drop of water. The rotifers (Rotifera, commonly called wheel animals) make up a phylum of microscopic and near-microscopic pseudocoelomate animals.

This print has been restored from the original, we have also enhanced the colours and removed a few scratches.

Never stop exploring, never stop learning, this is our adventure…
