Description

Tycho Brahe (1546-1601) could not abandon Aristotelian physics which is predicated on the notion that the the Earth is in the absolute center of the Universe, hence the reason everything falls to it. If the Earth wasn’t the center of the Universe, physics, well what was known to be the rules of physics were ultimately wrong.

This drawing represents the accepted view of the Universe in 1500’s and early 1600’s, around the time Nichols Copernicus was proposing his view that the sun was at the center. The Earth represented at position A, with the Moon and Sun orbiting the the center. Around the Sun you can see the other planets known at the time. What is position X? This is a comet that Tycho observed n 1577. A unique gift idea for those studying, teachers or those who just love science.
