Description

Wound Man is an illustration of the wounds a man/woman may receive which first appeared in European surgical texts in the Middle Ages. It has been drawn in many forms, however this is by far our favorite. It laid out schematically the various wounds a person might suffer in battle or in accidents, often with surrounding or accompanying text stating treatments for the various injuries.

As with all our drawings we have removed the old manuscript background, and enhanced the colours of the image and repaired any damage we could. Resulting in a fantastic facsimilie reproduction of this amazing manuscript page.

Never stop exploring, never stop learning, this is our adventure…
